James Jacob Martin Jr.

James Jacob Martin Jr., often known as Daddy Rich of Hollywood, was born on October 17, 1936, at Riverside General Hospital in Houston, Texas, to the late James Martin and Earlene Goffney.

In 1960, He enlisted in the military and served in Germany and Korea. He retired as a Sergeant First Class E-7 in 1982 after 22 years of service. He took great pride in his military career and received several awards and honors during his time in the military. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and the DAV. He passed away on Saturday, August 12th, 2023, with loved ones by his side.

As James Martin leaves us here on earth, he is returned to the loving embrace of God and reunited with his wife Julia, his parents, James and Earlene, his sisters Gloria and Willine, his son Dennis, and those family members and close friends who have gone before him.

His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with, as well as those he reached but never met. Visitation will take place at 12:00 PM with a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass.
