James F. Hewitt

First Sergeant (Ret.) James F. Hewitt Jr., born September 3, 1935, in Salem, NJ, passed away on November 29, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife, Jewel C. Hewitt; son, James F. Hewitt III; daughter, Mildred Macomber; Grand Children, Danielle Hewitt and Crista Macomber; Great Grandson, Cameron Hewitt. He served 20 years in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Bronze Star during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the military in 1978, he worked as a Production Controller again, with the U.S. Army (Civil Service) for an additional 16 years. He was a family man, spending many summers in the Sacramento Mountains as Scoutmaster, loving husband, and father. He passed peacefully with the Lord at this side. Visitation will begin at 9:00am, Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
