James David Frazier

James David Frazier ,64, of El Paso, TX, went to be with the Lord on October 2, 2012. He grew up in Hardin, Missouri, and talked often about his farm experiences and Christmas breakfast. As an undergraduate student at Central Missouri State University, he was a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon. He was an accomplished runner, setting the state records for cross-country running in the one and two mile events. He finished 17th place in a 1969 NCAA cross country meet. He also received recognition for Outstanding Athlete of America and was inducted to the UCM Athletic Hall of Fame. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Education and achieved a Master of Science in Education at the University of Texas Pan American. He lived in Colorado, Wyoming, South Texas, New Mexico, and Kentucky. There he was an educator, employed at UPS, Holiday Inn, Valley Brokerage, Tapadera Truck Stop, and ATI. Establishing lifelong friendships wherever he went. In El Paso, he worked in education at Howard Payne University and Immanuel Christian School. He was known as Coach to most people. He established winning athletic programs since 1991 and coached basketball teams to state championships. He loved being an Immanuel Warrior. He was an inspiration to all youth and desired they pursue excellence in every area of their lives. He received the Award of Excellence from the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame. While working at Immanuel, he met the love of his life, Chris, and they married in 2002. He was a loving, faithful husband who was an excellent provider and best friend. He was an amazing father, proud of his daughter Pan, an international student who lived with the Frazier’s. He enjoyed golf, camping, sports, computer/board games, writing, and western movies. He was a member at Sun Valley Baptist Church. He had a desire for mission work and that all hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He served as a board member of the Southwestern Gospel Ministries to Children. He is preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Geneva Frazier, his aunt, Nancy Muir, and uncle, Kenneth Foster. He is survived by his wife, Chris and daughter Pan Chudabala; sisters: Joyce Frazier, Martha Frazier, and Rebecca Frazier, Uncle Roger Muir, Aunt Barbara Foster, and many cousins, their spouses, their children, and numerous other relatives and close friends. Visitation will be at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast on Friday, October 5, from 6-8pm. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, October 6, at 12:00pm at Sun Valley Baptist Church. A memorial service will also be held Thursday, October 11, at 6:30 pm, at Immanuel Christian School.
