JAMES EUGENE EVERETT, 91, of El Paso passed away quietly and serenely at his home on April 24. Born in Toronto, Ohio, he grew up in nearby Steubenville. After serving in the United States Air Force at Biggs Air Force Base, he earned degrees in physics from Texas Western College and Texas A&M University and worked at White Sands Missile Range for many years. A devoted Christian, he enjoyed a long and loving marriage to Ruth, who preceded him in death. Jim is survived by his son Bill, Grimoldby, UK; step-daughter Kathleen Kirkpatrick, Helotes, TX; step-sons Dave LaBrec, Dallas; Steve LaBrec, Albuquerque, NM; Robert LaBrec, Clay, NY; and Tony LaBrec, Ft. Worth; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on May 4 at Sunset Funeral Home, 4631 Hondo Pass, with Visitation beginning at 11 a.m. The service will be livestreamed at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we ask everyone who will attend the service to please social distance and wear a mask. A Committal Service will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
