James T. Casper, age 88, passed peacefully at home on December 15th in El Paso Texas after a brief illness. Jim leaves his loving wife JoAnn; 6 children Jason Casper (Terry) of El Paso TX; Karen Casper (Pieter Pil) of Martha’s Vineyard MA; Kimberly Casper Capps of El Paso; John Sartori of Channahon IL; Janice White (Dan) of Aiken, SC, and Jill Sartori of Chicago, IL; 13 Grandchildren: Michael Poblano, J.R. Casper, Kaitlyn Casper, Gedeon Pil, Alexa Pil, Natalie Pil, Maverick Pil, Nicholas Capps, Jeremy Sartori, Ryan Sartori, Anthony Sartori, Brooke Gaster, and Megan Gaster; and 1 Great-granddaughter Jolene Willis. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Sophie Casper, brothers John Jr. and Robert Casper, sister Ruth Bieder, and son-in-law Jorge Morgan Capps. Jim was born on September 5, 1933, in Milwaukee Wisconsin. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea with the 197th Field Artillery Brigade. From the 1970s, Jim worked as the plant manager in the Maquiladora Industry at CentraLab and Hybritex in El Paso Texas, and Juarez, Mexico. After meeting in church, Jim and JoAnn enjoyed spending time together, visiting family, and trips to Ruidoso, New Mexico. Jim was an avid golfer and member of the Old Timers Golf Association. He also enjoyed annual fishing trips to Mazatlan, Mexico and Colorado. He enjoyed Fantasy Football as part owner of the Pescadores and original-4 BFFL team, also classical and bluegrass music. The Casper Family is grateful to Dr. Luis Guerra, El Paso Fire Fighters, and Encompass Health Hospice for their compassionate care. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 15th at St. Francis Cathedral, 470 Eagle Dr. El Paso Texas 79912. Private interment with military honors will be at Ft.
