Jaime Rodriguez

Jaime Rodriguez passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022 at the age of 82 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 12, 1939 in El Paso, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Ignacia Escajeda Rodriguez, father, Edmundo Rodriguez, siblings, Leonor Rodriguez, and Edmundo Rodriguez, S.J.

Jaime was a TV repairman for many years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He loved to fish and hunt with his friends, many of whom he grew up with in the Sunset Heights neighborhood of El Paso. He loved to share stories about his friends, days playing basketball in school and growing up in Sunset Heights. He loved his children and grandchildren and made sure they knew how to fish as soon as they could hold a fishing pole which was his favorite baby-sitting activity. You would never see Jaime without a baseball cap of which he had hundreds and wore them proudly based on which of his favorite college or professional teams were playing on any given day. His favorite pastime was watching college football and Cowboys football but above all he loved playing golf with his brother Edmundo.

He is survived by his children, Angelica Rodriguez, Rebecca Lowry (Mark), Ruth Loretta Rodriguez, Benjamin Rodriguez; grandchildren, Jessica Morales, Cate Lowry, Cameron Lowry; siblings, Sr. Elisa Rodriguez, Susana Marquez, Aurora Powell, Sr. Gloria Rodriguez, Guillermo Rodriguez (Linda), Rebecca Ballon; the love of his life, Diane Ellis and numerous nieces and nephews all who loved him dearly. 

Memorial mass will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 10:00 am at The Chapel of Loretto Academy at 1300 Hardaway, El Paso, TX 79903.
