Jacqueline Gardner

Mrs. Jacqueline Gardner, née Thompson, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on August 2, 2012. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Wade, her children James Martin, Patricia Rene, and Wade Alan as well as her parents Owen and Ruby Thompson. She is survived by her children Terri Harris and Michael Gardner and their spouses James and Nora. She left four grandchildren who brought her great joy, Sara, Dani, Alex and Colin. She was born in Santa Monica, California and raised in Southern California and Arkansas. She attended nursing school but left to follow Wade in his Army career across many assignments until moving to El Paso in 1969. She was a friend and comfort to many over her years. She was a lover of animals and people. She and her family cherished her angels on earth, Ruth and Wilson Dumond and Manny Carrillo. She lived her life as an example following the statement of her favorite Saint Francis "Preach the gospel daily, if needed, use words". Services are being arranged by Sunset Funeral Home and internment will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the El Paso Humane Society.
