Jack D. Summers

January 3, 1932 — January 1, 2022

Jack Summers passed away on New Year's day, two days before his 90th birthday. He was a native El Pasoan, graduated from Austin High School and retired from the Texas Highway Department after 30 years as a supervisor of all the county highways. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Eunice Summers, step-father Claire Bradshaw and Jack’s wife of 43 years, Betty. He is survived by his two step-sons, Tommy Lewis (Carol), Danny Lewis, grandchildren Allyson Lewis and Tommy Lewis (Sandra) and four great grandchildren, Ryan and Natalie Lewis, Cole and Alec Felhaber and his many friends at Royal Estates that filled his days with joy. Jack was a kind, humble, generous man who loved to tease and had a playful nature with everyone. He brought our family a lifetime of joy and unconditional love. He spent many years judging the livestock show and he was a “Jack-of-All-Trades” when it came to his wonderland of tools. A graveside service will be held Monday, Jan 10th at 10:00 am at Memory Gardens, Santa Teresa, NM. Jack gave to many organizations that helped the children and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of El Paso or Hospice of El Paso. Services are entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West, 480 N. Resler Dr. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Jack D. Summers please visit our Sympathy Store.
