JACK CHARLES MILLIS was called by the Lord on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. He was born on January 28, 1925, son of Katherine and Charles Millis of Chicago, Illinois. He attended La Salle University and graduated with honors. He joined the U.S. Army in 1942, passing the eye exam by memorizing the eye chart. He was blind in one eye after falling down a flight of stairs when he was two years old. He served in the Military Police in South Africa. He also served in the U.S. Army two years in Europe and two years in the South Pacific in the Medical Corps. He earned several medals for bravery and sharp shooting: Honorable Service, American Campaign, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign, World War II Victory and two Good Conduct Medals. In 1949 he founded and thereafter operated Advance Plumbing and Heating. Mrs. Millis worked side by side with her husband as his business secretary for over 40 years. He was Vice-President of Normach, a corporation of medical doctors. He was married to his wife for 66 years. He is survived by his beloved daughter Marilyn Millis; granddaughter Tami Davidson, her husband Corey and stepson Josh; grandsons Christopher Jones, his wife Beth and daughter Riley; Jerry Dale Jones, Jr., his wife Mary Ann and son Jace. He has many nieces and nephews in Illinois and Texas. Two men he cared for and admired dearly were Stephan Sample and Jerry Jones, Sr.; both men assisted him often in his last two years.
