Jack Allen Johnson, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 12, 2023, in El Paso, Texas. Born on October 27, 1951, in Louisa, Virginia, living a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and courage he was lovingly known as (Jackie) departed this life on July 12, 2023 due to a lengthy illness.
He was born to Thomas Joe Johnson and Geraline Elizabeth Johnson. He received his education from the NYC Department of Education System, then furthered his education while attending Eastern Kentucky University, as well as Etown Community College. He proudly served his country by joining the armed forces and became a SGT Major in the Army. His commitment and dedication to his military service were truly exemplary.
In 1991 Jack met and married his wife Valerie Wilkerson. Throughout his life came three loving children: Krystal, Jack II, and Alan-Micheal. He was hard working, a devoted husband, father and family man. Jack was preceded in death by both his parents, Thomas, and Geraline Elizabeth Johnson as well five siblings, Thomas Joe Johnson, Marie Johnson-Saxbie, Barbara Johnson, Thereasa Johnson, and Stephanie Johnson.
He leaves his children; Jack Allen Johnson II, Khrystal A. Johnson, and Alan-Micheal Johnson, to cherish in his memories along with his brother; Michael Johnson, 5 grandchildren, 1 daughter in law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Although he is no longer with us physically, his memory will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
To honor Jack's remarkable life and bid him farewell with the respect he deserves, services have been organized. The visitation will take place at Sunset Funeral Homes - Northeast 4631 Hondo Pass Drive in El Paso, Texas, on July 24, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the same location from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Finally, a graveside service will occur at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso at 1:00 PM, where he will be laid to rest with full military honors. Jack Allen Johnson's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He may be gone from our sight, but he will never be forgotten. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
