Isabel R. Ortiz

On Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at the age of 79, Isabel R. Ortiz passed away. Isabel spent her life dedicated to her family and community. Isabel was the loving mother of 6 daughters Maria Guadalupe Guthrie(Tim),Rosalinda Edenfield (Bubba),Amalia Rohrbacher (Cris),Irma Elena Ortiz(Sergio),Gloria Baetz (Joe) ,Josie McCleary(Reese) and 2 sons Miguel Angel Ortiz(Mary),Henry Ortiz Jr(Jacque), grandmother of 21, and great grandmother of 14.Brother Saul Reyes, sisters Simitria Gonzales(deceased),Lupe Mata and Blanca Cardoza. Born in Sinaloa Mexico, Isabel earned her U.S. citizenship in 1981. Isabel worked as a Head cook at Cedar Grove elementary for 27 years and was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church. Isabel, the matriarch of the Ortiz family, provided her love, guidance and comfort to all those that knew her. Isabel leaves a void which can never be filled and she will be forever missed. Isabel will be reunited with her parents, Jose and Maria Elena Ruiz, her husband Henry Ortiz Sr. and her granddaughter Segourney Wehling. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm Sunday, September 16, 2012 with a vigil at 6:30 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral Mass will be at 12:30 pm Monday, September 17, 2012 at Little Flower Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
