Irmgard Auguste Di Mery

March 13, 1944 — February 6, 2022

Mrs. Irmgard Auguste Blumenschein Di Mery, age 77, was born on March 13, 1944 in Darmstadt, Germany and left her earthly home for her Heavenly home on February 6, 2022 in El Paso, Texas. She leaves behind three children; Ms. Carmelita Di Mery, Ms. Yolana Di Mery (David Cromeans), and Mr. Carlton Di Mery Jr. (Laura Di Mery). She was also blessed with four grandchildren; Andrea Di Mery, Megan Di Mery, Cameron Di Mery, and Isabelle Di Mery. Irmgard was a wonderful aunt to many nieces and nephews. Irmgard was the only child born to her parents during a time of great conflict in Europe and the world. She relied on strong family bonds and ingenuity to survive this time. She studied and learned many different languages and went on to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Goethe Institute in Frankfurt Germany, and she did post graduate work at The University of Texas at El Paso. As a very young woman in Germany, she met her “tall, dark, and handsome” Prince who would sweep her off of her feet and go on to become her loving and devoted husband. As a young, married military couple, she was able to travel the world with her husband. She eventually gave birth to her three children while being stationed in Germany. Irmgard emigrated to the United States in 1977 and settled in El Paso, TX with her husband and children until the military retired her husband from active duty after almost 21 years of service. She held prominent accounting positions at Stars and Stripes Military Publication in Germany, Spectra Physics, Paxson Advertising, and various radio/television stations. She retired from KVIA Channel 7 as their Comptroller after many years of balancing their books. She spent the remainder of her life living with her husband on their farm in Anthony, NM tending to her flower gardens, creating colorful and flavorful meals for her friends and family, and chasing around her grandson, whom she helped raise. The love and support she gave to all those around her were immeasurable. She could make a dollar out of a penny and would give you the shirt off her back even if she didn’t have it. She would have celebrated her 56th wedding anniversary this month. Upon entering Heaven, she was greeted by her loving and doting husband, Mr. Carlton Hill Di Mery Sr., her father and mother, Herr Christian Ludwig Loeffler and Frau Berta Helene Blumenschein, and her half-brother Herr Heinrich Loeffler (Maria(d)), and her half-sisters, Frau Therese Moers, née Loeffler (Hans(d)), Frau Christine Zimmermann, née Loeffler (Rudolf), and Frau Irene Katzek, née Loeffler, (Rudolf(d)). She is survived by her three children, four grandchildren, and many extended friends and family to cherish and honor her memory A Visitation will be held Monday, February 14, 2022 at 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Eulogy Service to follow at 5:30 pm, at Sunset Funeral Home- West.
