Irma Soto Gatzka, born June 26, 1940, in El Paso Texas to Juan F. Soto and Solodad Duran Soto, passed away on January 25, 2022 she was 81 years old. She is survived by her sister, Mary Timmons, her children, Katherine E. Maillia, Theresa L. Gonzalez, Joseph Gatzka, Sr. and his wife Esther, Veronica C. Navarro and her husband Mario, Valerie Y. Gatzka and her husband Jeffrey, and Bennett L. Gatzka and his wife Lorraine. She enjoyed a wonderful relationship with her stepdaughter Jennifer Labado always considering her as her own. She had many cousins, nephews, and nieces, 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed a wonderful friendship with her ex-husband Joseph Gatzka, Sr. which she cherished. She lived with her Daughter Theresa and granddaughter LaKisha for a great deal of her later years, yet her home was always filled with the love of her children and their families. She was a graceful lady, great cook, wonderfully cherished friend, and gentle spirit. She had a way of saying good morning that lifted your heart and make you smile. She had the gift of being able to grow a fruit orchard in her backyard in the middle of the desert to enjoy and share with her family. She always celebrated every moment she spent with her family no matter what they were doing. She unconditionally and unselfishly loved her children and supported them all her life through the many highs and difficulties of their lives. Always filled with prayer, the love of Jesus, and a gentle heart, she offered words of praise and love to everyone around her. She was the rock and the wind below the wings in which her children soared. She was a light to all who knew her and to the children she taught in Sunday school. She will be greatly missed but she has fought the good fight, she has finished the race, and she had kept the faith. Now she is with Jesus in paradise. Visitation 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM, Monday, January 31, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina. Graveside Service will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 01, 2022 at Evergreen East Cemetery.
