Irma Inez Flores 79, passed away on Friday, November 01, 2024. Irma is survived by her sister Alvina Gilliland and numerous nieces and nephews.
Irma was born in Tornillo, Tx on March 29, 1945. She is the daughter of Florencio Flores and Juana Bonilla.
Irma grew up in southern New Mexico where she attended school and later graduated from NMSU where she received a Bachelor of Science in Education. Irma taught English Literature at Gadsen High School where she was once a pupil herself.
After 8 years of teaching, she decided to get her Masters degree. She studied at Texas Women’s University in Denton, Tx where she received her Master’s degree in Library Science. She worked at Andress High School and then Bowie High School where she retired after 22 years.
Irma was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She taught Sunday School classes and loved working in her genealogy.
Visitation will begin at 9:00am with a Funeral Service at 9:30am on Thursday, November 07, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5510 Hondo Pass Dr. Committal Service to follow at 11:00am on Thursday, November 07, 2024 at Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400 Montana Ave.
