Irene O. Whitehurst

Irene O. Whitehurst, 73, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2011. A life long resident of El Paso, Irene is preceded in death by her husband; Virgil, and two brothers; Edward Olivas and Jose Dolores. She is survived by her stepchildren; Virgil Whitehurst, Marvin Whitehurst, and Marie Apodaca, brothers; Guillermo and Enrique Olivas and sisters Margarita McLellan, Maria Ester Olivas, Rosario Cano, and Leticia Olivas. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm Thursday, April 28, 2011 with a vigil at 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Funeral Mass will be at 9:45 am Friday at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Enrique Olivas Jr., Michael J. Olivas, Jeremey Ozuna, Justin Quiroga, John Cano and Hector Olivas. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
