Irene Ortiz

Beloved Mother and Grandmother, Irene “Mama” Ortiz, 86, went home to our Lord on January 20, 2013. Mama was the heart and soul of our family. Her life evolved around her ever-growing family. She was loving, giving and extremely generous to us all. We have too many great stories and memories of her great sense of humor to tell. There will not be one day that we all won’t dearly miss her. God has called your name, there is a new Angel in Heaven. In life we loved you dearly, you did not go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home. She was preceded in death by her husband Angel Ortiz and daughter Irma Ortiz. She is survived by her daughters Alicia Ortiz (Rodrigo), Marina Contreras (Ruben), Elva Duran, son Saul Ortiz, 24 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. The Ortiz family would like to thank Dr. Max Peralta and Hospice of El Paso for all their continuous care during these trying times. Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 pm, Friday, January 25, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home-West with a Vigil at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 am, Saturday, January 26, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
