Iola Georgina Bain

Iola Georgina Bain, 86, passed away March 8, 2007 . “Pat” as she was affectionately called by her friends and loved ones, was born November 1, 1920, in Aiken, Minnesota. She returned to the Las Cruces area to retire with her husband, Paul Bain in 1977. Trained and certified by the American National Red Cross, Pat became a long-time supporter of White Sands Missile Range volunteer services. She received the Distinguished Volunteer Award for invaluable service to and dedication in support of community programs and in 1987 was made lifetime honorary member of the NCO EM Wives Club for thirty years of service. In 1994, Pat received the Commanders Award for Public Service. Pat is survived by her daughters, Paula Kneeskern and husband, Paul of El Paso; Claudia (Fran) Tubbs and life partner, Cindy Langkans; and Carol Bain and husband Ed Coll. She is further survived by three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
