Howard Eugene Wade was born on January 18, 1952 in Halifax County, NC to Ezekiel and Mary Ethel (Epps) Wade. He attended Inborden School and thereafter enlisted into the military where he served as a Staff Sergeant in the U S Army. He furthered his education at Nash Technical College in Rocky Mount, NC, where he studied Electrical Installation and Maintenance. He later became a long-distance truck driver for many years before retiring. Howard was affectionately known as Zeke Jr, Wade and/or Gino. He never met a stranger. Everywhere he went he knew somebody or somebody knew him. He was like a light, people gravitated to him and wanted to be around him. He could talk to anybody about anything. He was an upbeat and positive person. Always looking for the good in others. He also had skills. If it was broken he could fix it. Especially cars. That was his passion. He got that from his dad. If it wasn't broken he would take it apart just to put it back together. Howard was preceded in death by his father Ezekiel, mother Mary Ethel, son Reginald and his daughter Alexis. He is survived by his other half, Mi Sherman, four children, Kenneth, Amin, Tiffany and Sophia (and their families), his brother Johnnie and sisters, Margo, Maria and Carlotta and children, cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with Military Honors to be presented at 6:45pm and a Funeral Service to begin at 7:00pm on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive.
