Hortencia A. Evaro, 85, born in Sugar City, Colorado and resident of Anthony, Texas passed away on July 29, 2008. Hortencia is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel B. and Rosalia G. Armendariz; brother, Gilbert Armendariz, Sr., sister, Alicia Baca; Manuel Evaro, Sr., son, Manuel A. Evaro, Jr., and grandson, Orlando (Nano) Sapien. She is survived by her daughters, Bertha Evaro, Marta E. Guerra, and Irene E. Martin. She had 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Hortencia loved to cook and was called “GRANDMA” by all who loved her. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm, Thursday, July 31, 2008 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with a Vigil at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will begin at 9:30 a.m., Friday, August 1, 2008 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with burial to follow at Anthony Cemetery. Gentlemen honored to serve as Pallbearers will be Andres Griego, Jr., Ivan Valdez, John Erich Sapien, Jr., Bobby Armendariz, Rudy Armendariz, and Randy Ramos. Honorary Pallbearers will be Garry Martin, Sonny Sapien, Armando Armendariz, Arturo Armendariz, Gilbert Armendariz, Jr., Angel Segovia, Chris Gomez, and Jonathan G. Cobos.
