Hope J. Garcia

Hope J Garcia was born July 30, 1938 in El Paso, Texas. With His arms around her, the Lord called home his angel on February 18, 2017. Hope graduated from Austin High School in 1956. She later worked for Mountain Bell, Southwestern Bell and retired from AT&T after 30 long years. She loved partying, dancing and having fun. Hope was a loving mother, wife, and sister. Her world was completed as a grandmother. After all, she retired to be a full time loving grandmother. She did and gave everything she had for everyone she loved. Hope is survived by her son Frank Garcia and daughter Melissa Vasquez (Charlie); 5 grandsons Charlie Jr (Cerenna), Nathan (Tanisha), Zachary Vasquez, Matthew and Patrick Garcia; 2 great grandsons, Charlie III and Caleb Vasquez; and 3 sisters, Ann (James) Kelly, Jean Young and Judy (Joe) McGuire. Hope will be welcomed to Heaven by her mother Maria Young, Sharon Young (sister), Juan and Aurelia Gutierrez (grandparents), Margie Salazar, Carmen Gross, Cecil Gutierrez. We would like to give a special thank you to Maria Santiesteban, the Santiesteban family, Norma, Mari, Lourdes, Zuriel, Envision Hospice, Dr. Mauneer Assi and Dr. Jesus Gomez and all staff members of Envision. Pallbearers will be Billy Lamb and her 5 grandsons. Visitation: 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00pm on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass: 10:00am on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Interment: 11:30am at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Please visit registry at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net.
