Helen Clements Brower

Helen Clements Brower, 88, passed away June 22, 2011. Helen was an independent person who celebrated life every day and brought joy to those who knew her. She was an avid bowler (Alaska amateur state champion in 1962), volunteered her time to her church, and to her many friends. Her optimism and practical nature were a comfort to all. She will be missed. Helen Clements was born in 1923 in Rotan, Texas. She married Lloyd Brower of Ardmore, Oklahoma in 1943. They served in and loved the Air Force and lived in many locations during their time in the service, including Japan, Alaska, California and Texas. After retirement they settled in El Paso in 1965, where they had many happy years of marriage until Lloyd’s passing in 1990. She is preceded in death by her parents W.A. “Dick” Clements and Hester Clements, her sister and brother-in-law Earl and Nina Jo Rogers. She is survived by her son Stephen (Adele) Brower; grandchildren Donald (Sarah) Brower, Kenneth Brower, Stacie Brower; brother Melvin (Odessa) Clements; and nieces and nephews Brenda (Jim) Rudd, Tony (Ginger) Rogers, Karen (Loren) Gardner, Bret (Jayneice) Clements, Trudy (Frank) Garcia and their families. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2011 from 10:30-11:30 am at Sunset Funeral Homes-West. Funeral Service to follow at 11:30 am. Interment at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
