Helen Aileen (Clement) Bock March 7, 1915 - May 8, 2011 Helen C. Bock, of El Paso, Texas, was called home by our Lord on Mother’s Day, May 8, 2011. She was born in Mishawaka, Indiana on March 7, 1915 to Howard Arthur and Nettie Rosalie (Marx) Clement. She was preceded in death by her parents and her three siblings, Carol R. Kindschi, Howard A. (Bud) Clement Jr., and John (Jack) M. Clement On November 2, 1935, in West Lafayette, Indiana, she married Oscar Dane Bock, who preceded her in death. The couple celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary in November of 2006. She was the loving Mother of Nancy J. (George) Badgero of Granger, Indiana, John H. (Patricia) Bock of El Paso, Texas, Susan J. Bock of Carmel, Indiana and James A. (Linda) Bock of Loveland, Ohio. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grand children, and seven great-great grandchildren. Helen was a graduate of Mishawaka High School in Mishawaka, Indiana in 1933. She attended Purdue University where she was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She and Mr. Bock settled in the South Bend area in 1935. While raising her four children she was involved in their school activities and various Church activities. She was also very active in the Alpha Xi Delta alumni group as well as the Women’s Guild at Sunnyside Presbyterian Church. In 1962, Mr. Bock began his own export/import company and Mrs. Bock served as the Vice-President of the company. The two traveled extensively throughout the world and grew the company to the point that it became necessary to relocate to Wilmington, Ohio in 1973. In Wilmington, Mrs. Bock was an active member of the Wilmington Presbyterian Church. The couple retired to El Paso, Texas in 1982, where they had an active life. They resided at the White Acres Retirement Community from1996 until 2008. Mrs. Bock was very devoted to her family and her happiest moments were spent preparing for Sunday gatherings for the entire family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching musicals and dance videos from the 40’s. A memorial service to celebrate Helen’s life will be held at the Sunset Funeral Home on Resler Avenue on Thursday, May 12, 2011. Visitation will be at 10:00AM with services following at 11:00 AM. A memorial service will also be held at the Bubb Funeral Home on Main Street in Mishawaka, Indiana on Tuesday May 17, 2011. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice.
