Heidi Hayes

Heidi Hayes, age 64, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 22, 2023. She was born on May 6th,1959 to Dr. Harold Robert (Bob) Hayes, II, and Barbara Davis Hayes in El Paso. She went to Coronado High School and then attended UTEP. Heidi was a beautiful woman--inside and out--and her magical personality and artistic gifts made her the life of any gathering. She was a talented singer/songwriter, a sculptor, and a music teacher.  Sadly, when she was just 48 years old, she had a massive stroke that limited her mobility and ability to communicate. What it didn’t steal was her optimism and faith. She spent seventeen years in an assisted living facility where she loved to sing about Jesus and tell anyone who would listen that God loves him or her. Her family is sad to lose her but so relieved that she’s free of her confinement. We will see Heidi again at the Resurrection and what a joyful day it will be!  Heidi is preceded in death by her dearest parents; Harold Robert Hayes II and Barbara Davis; and her brother; Harold Robert Hayes III. She is survived by her loving children; Jacob Alan Rash (Nancy Jeanne) and Katherine Lee (Rob); her sister; Susan Kathleen Hayes; and her wonderful grandchildren; Jayce Richard Rash, Willa Faith Rash, Elaine Josephine Lee, and Olivia Lorraine Lee. She is also survived by many extended family and friends to cherish and honor her memory. A Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home-West with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 am. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West, 480 N. Resler Dr.
