Hector Javier Loya Sr., entered into eternal rest on October 9, 2022 in El Paso, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Emeterio Loya and Maria Estela Del Hierro. Hector is survived by his beloved wife, Terry Loya. His sons, Hector Loya Jr (Connie)., Michael Loya (Yvonne) and Alex Loya. Daughters, Suzanna Loya Gutierrez, Estela Grill (Greg) and Elizabeth Loya. Siblings Jose Loya and Beatriz Carlos (Manuel). Also leaving behind 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren to honor and cherish his memory.
He was cared for by his wife of 40 years, Terry Loya. He was beloved and respected by many as a veteran, business owner, coach and friend. His memory will continue to live on through the values and life lessons he shared throughout his 81 years of life.
Hector served his country for 12 years as a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force. He later become a business owner. He owned a limousine and catering service and the La Calesa restaurant among other ventures. He also had a successful career in sales and retired from the El Paso Independent School District (EPISD).
Hector loved traveling, sports and fishing. One of his passions was coaching. He was a city basketball coach for over 30 years. He also loved to entertain his friends and family at his home. Where he would cook the most delicious foods.
Hector was very loved by all those he met and will be dearly missed.
A Gathering will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr, El Paso, Texas 79907. A Mass will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 28, 2022 at St. Frances Xavier Mother Carbini Catholic Church, 12200 Vista Del Sol Dr, El Paso, Texas 79936. A Graveside will follow at 11:30 AM on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, 79906. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home- Americas.
