God saw an angel’s robe needed mending and Heaven’s flowers needed tending, so he gently called our Mother Home. Hazel Bernice Poe was born on June 30, 1920 to P. E. and Nellie Fay Hardcastle, and she passed away on May 8, 2011. Mom was an incredibly talented woman who expressed her love for her family and friends through her culinary and sewing skills. She graciously volunteered her talents to assist numerous charitable organizations in El Paso. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, George V. Poe, Sr. She is survived by her children: George V. Poe (Bobbie Lee), Robert A. Poe (Cathy) and Faynell Poe; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Rescue Mission of El Paso in her memory will be appreciated. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2011, Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, Rev. Dr. John Williams, officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
