Hattie Udora Byrd

Hattie U. Byrd, of El Paso, Texas, passed away November 6, 2010. She was born July 8, 1924 in Gretna, Virginia. She was raised in Virginia and West Virginia. She is survived by her son, Edward Byrd (Lucy); daughter, Wanda Williams; grandsons, Kevin Williams and Anthony Rodriguez Byrd, and great granddaughter, Andrea, all of El Paso, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Joy Ramsey (James), Cleveland, Ohio; brothers, Howard Payne (Barbara), Newport News, Virginia; Clarence Payne (Brenda), Columbus, Ohio; sister in law, Beatrice Hairston (Robin), Lester, West Virginia; the Glover Family, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maud Silar; her son, Charles Byrd; brother, James Payne, and her husband, Russell Byrd. Visitation will be from 11:00am-12:00 p.m., Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Main Post Chapel, formerly known as Center Chapel One, Fort Bliss, Texas with a Funeral Service at 12:00 noon. Committal Service will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Interment will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
