Harry L Johnson

Harry L. Johnson, 69, affectionately known as “Doc”, passed away on November 18, 2007, in El Paso, Texas. Doc was born to the late Willie and Ida Johnson in Garrison, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by seven siblings; Mary Etta, Bessie, Frances, Quesell, Richard, Opal and Calvin Sr. Doc had a wonderful career in the United States Army and received many awards, honors and commendations. Doc retired from the Military with the rank of E-9 Command Sergeant Major at Fort Bliss, Texas after dedicating 30 years of service. He leaves to cherish his memories; the love of his life for 50 years, Helena Johnson; two sons Gregory E. Johnson Sr., wife (Barbara) of Atlanta, Georgia; Larry L. Johnson, wife (Tawnya) of Lauderhill, Florida; three grandchildren; Shont’a M. Johnson of Atlanta; Gregory E. Johnson Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia and Sebastian M. Johnson of Lauderhill, Florida; one sister, Bernice Saunders of Orgas, West Virginia. Doc had a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday November 25, 2007 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home 4631 Hondo Pass El Paso, TX 79904. Funeral Services will be held on Monday November 26, 2007 at 11:30 am at Sunset Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
