Graciela Armas "Mama Chela"

Graciela “Mama Chela” Armas, 86 passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.  She was a long-time parishioner and choir member of San Jose Catholic Church. She volunteered at Robert F. Kennedy Pre-K and for several years at Marian Manor School.  She will be greatly missed by her family and everyone who knew her. Graciela was preceded in death by her parents David and Emilia Chavez, her husband Ernesto Armas, brothers, Humberto, David, and Javier Chavez.  She is survived by her sisters: Hilda Montero, Elvia Zarate, and Emilia Moya, and her children; Adriana Posada and her husband Antonio, Marisa Alvarado and Michael Esquivel, Mario Armas and his wife Mayra, Julie Paredes and Rebecca Armas.  She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 23, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with Rosary at 7:00 pm.  On Tuesday, May 24, 2022, the Funeral Mass will be at St Joseph’s Catholic Church at 12:00 pm at 1315 Travis, El Paso, Texas 79903 with Interment at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
