Gonzalo Aguilar "Chalo", beloved husband, Father, grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2013 at the age of 95. Chalo was born April 25, 1917 in Tornillo, Texas and was a lifelong resident of El Paso. He had several passions including spending time with family and friends. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He proudly served his country during WWII in the 380th Field Artillery Battalion. He would share his WWII experiences in Germany, France and Belgium with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Maria; mother, Esther; father, Francisco; brothers: Francisco Jr. and Jose; sister, Juanita and granddaughter, Alessandra (Sasha). He is survived by sons: Gonzalo Jr. (Chole), Victor Manuel and Andy; daughters: Gloria Castillo (Jaime), Rosa Gomez (Danny); four grandchildren: Isaac (Jeanne), Nita (Eric), Victor (Karen) and Stephen; six great grandchildren: Cairo, Evan, Roman, Alec, Penny and Dennis. He is now dancing with the love of his life Maria in heaven to whom he was married for over 60 years. Merci beaucoup for 95 years and Auf Wiedershehen. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m., with a Vigil to begin at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. A Funeral Mass will be said at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1050 N. Clark. Interment to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
