Gloria Mae Lathem Smith

Gloria Mae Lathem Smith, 78, born April 1929 in Alabama passed away July 9, 2007 in New Mexico. She was a resident of El Paso since 2001 and was a Red Cross Volunteer at William Beaumont Army Medical Center for several years. As a child, because of her fathers line of work, she attended 13 schools in 12 years. This gave her an outgoing personality and she made friends easily. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Earl and Mae Belle Lathem. She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas B. Smith who she met and married in Kingsville, Texas in 1950. She is also survived by her daughter, Jere Lynn Smith Winters and granddaughter, Sierra Smith-Carter, both of Kerrville, Texas; and her brother, Earl H. Lathem, Jr. of Theodore, Alabama. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home - Northeast. Committal Service will be held at 9:00 am, Monday, July 16, 2007 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes - Northeast.
