Gloria A. Bunyan

Gloria A. Bunyan, 61, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away peacefully after years of battling Parkinson’s at her home on August 14, 2008. Her deep love, beauty, strength, kindness, compassion and sincerity of spirit served as a lasting inspiration to all she touched through out her life. She took pleasure in the company and warmth of family and friends, listening to music, enjoying movies, and a love for animals. Gloria is catholic by faith. She worked Civil Service around the world retiring at Fort Bliss with 39 years of Federal Service. Born January 3, 1947 in the Philippines, she was preceded in death by her parents, Nicasio B. and Pilar Co Asuncion; She is survived and loved dearly by her husband Jerald B. Bunyan, her son Lamar (Celeste) Reid; step children Jerald, Cheryl, and Donna; two grandchildren (Micaiela & Nicasio); brothers, Nick (Amanda), Joseph (Shirley), and William (Debbi) Asuncion, and sister Helen (Scott) Pierson; four nieces, two nephews, and numerous cousins whom she loved; and many friends to numerous to name. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 18, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home–Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral service will begin at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home–Northeast. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
