Glodine Beverly Smith was born to Charles E. Roberts Sr. and Glodine B. Hall on October 8, 1956 in California. She is preceded in death by her brother Charles, and her sisters Faith and Patti.
She graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1974 in San Antonio, Texas. She received an associate of art degree from San Antonio College in May of 1979. On November 24, 1979 she entered into matrimony with Marcus W. Smith Sr., from that union two children were born, Marcus and Faith.
She belonged to several civil and Masonic groups. With her angelic essence she touched many lives working several different occupations including but not limited to working at the Exchange, Commissary, United Blood Services, schools in the surrounding El Paso area and Otero County Prison. She mentored and was looked upon as a motherly figure by many.
She was the ultimate grandma.
Glodine loved angels; she always wore an abundance of angel pins and necklaces.
Glodine is remembered for her beautiful smile, kind heart, selflessness, and for being a constant motivator in the lives of her children, grandchildren, co-workers, friends, family, students, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She was called home the morning of April 26, 2013, she sadly leaves to morn her two children Marcus (Jennifer) El Paso, TX and Faith (Joseph) El Paso, TX, three grandsons Dimitri, Marcus III (M-Tre), Malaki, an ex-husband Marcus W. Smith Sr. San Antonio, TX , three brothers, James Roberts San Antonio, TX, Gregory Roberts (Maryland), Kenneth (Delilah) Roberts FRG, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and an abundance of students.
The memorial service will be on Saturday May 4, 2013, 1 pm at the Northeast Bible Fellowship Church located on 5505 Threadgill Street, El Paso, Texas 79924. We are asking that NO one wears black, we would like to celebrate her life not morn her death Contributions can be sent to The Smith Family at 5725 David M.
