Glenn Patrick Bessellieu

Glenn Patrick Bessellieu, 54, of 5515 Alabama St., passed away Thursday at his home. Mr. Bessellieu was born in Jacksonville, Florida on August 27, 1953 and was the son of John C. Bessellieu and the late Johnnie Mae Bessellieu. Glenn was a security Specialist in the United States Air Force and he attained the rank of sergeant while on active duty. Glenn was also a Vietnamese War Veteran. He was employed by The Veteran’s Administration as a mail clerk. Glenn was also a Mason and long time member of Prince Hall, Pioneer Lodge # 102 in Plattsburgh New York. Glenn was a South Carolina State Park Ranger prior to arriving El Paso in 2003. Glenn was also an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and served as president of the choir. In addition to his father, Mr. Bessellieu is survived by his wife, Rachel Tanner; three sons, James L. Tanner (Tyra) of Chesterfield, Va., Karl H. Tanner (Keisha) of Dudley, NC., Jon P. Bessellieu Sr. (Tamara) of El Paso, TX.; seven grandchildren, Andrea Tanner, Danisha Tanner, Christian Humphreys, Jamese Tanner, Jaeden S. Pugh, Tre’Marion Smith, Jon P. Bessellieu Jr.; his aunt, Betty Murray of Pawley’s Island, South Carolina, and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Funeral Service will be held at 9:00 am, Friday, January 25, 2008 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, on Wyoming St. Interment at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
