Glenda Sutton

December 16, 1948 — September 22, 2012

Sutton, Glenda (nee McGregor), 12/16/48 – 9/22/12, It is with deep sorrow that the family of Glenda Sutton announces her passing on September 22, 2012, at the age of 63 years. Glenda will be forever remembered by her son Sean (Mindy), grandson Sean Allan, former husband David and her “adopted” parents Bill and Amy Sutton. Glenda will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters Heather (Ted – deceased), Margaret – deceased (Barry), Barbara (John), Helen (Geoff), her brother Bruce (Lee), nieces and nephews Kim, Jackie, Anthony, David, Natalie, Kent, Tanya, Natasha, Coral, Peter and stepbrothers David and Stephen. She was predeceased by her parents Robert Allan McGregor and Clariss, and stepmother Elsie. Many, many friends are left behind all over the world. Glenda was born and raised in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. She was the youngest of six children and could sweet-talk her dad into giving her just about anything. She loved to travel and saw most of Australia before meeting her American husband in Western Australia, Learmonth. In 1972 she moved to El Paso, TX and started a family. She worked at El Paso Natural Gas Company for many years while living there. She made many lifetime friends at the gas company, who all helped her become acclimated to Texas life. She moved to Austin, TX in 2004 to be closer to her son and grandson. Many would agree that Glenda was the life of the party and that she never met a stranger. She was so much fun to be with! There were so many layers to her personality – she was outgoing, quick-witted, compassionate, generous, loving and so much more. She was always there for her family and friends and she always made everyone feel so important. Glenda often visited Australia and Canada to see family and friends. During her visit to Australia in June of 2007 she accepted Christ and was baptized alongside her sister Barbara; a memory that she treasured. She will be terribly missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, El Paso TX. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Please visit on-line register book at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net.
