Glenda Shirleen Hilgenberg

Glenda Shirleen Hilgenberg (Larimer), of El Paso, TX, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at the age of 71. Shirleen was born to parents Vern and Opal Larimer on November 2, 1945 in Galesburg, IL. She was the eldest of two daughters and attended Galesburg High School. She married Thomas Hilgenberg and had three Sons. Shirleen’s career started in Galesburg with marketing then transitioned into management of senior living facilities before moving her career to Minneapolis MN where she retired as the office manager of a web game/design company. Shirleen was an active member of her home owners’ association, community, BSF and her church. She was a faithful woman who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved golfing, reading, spending time with her dogs and bible study. Shirleen is survived by two sons, Scott Roy Hilgenberg and wife Rebekah of El Paso; Randy Lee Hilgenberg and wife Robin of Knoxville, IL; her sister, Cheryl Bickel and husband Richard Bickel of Knoxville, IL; six grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and close friends . She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Jeffrey Thomas Hilgenberg. A celebration of life service will be held for family and friends at the Covenant Church in Galesburg, IL with burial in Knoxville, IL at a later date. “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes has eternal life.” John 6:47
