Gilberto (Beto) Garcia passed away May 7, 2017, at the age of 76 after a long and heroic battle with various Agent Orange maladies contracted during his tours of duty in Vietnam. Born in Cd. Juarez, he graduated from El Paso High School in 1959 and promptly joined the US Army. After training, he was assigned to hostile fire duty in the Korean Demilitarized Zone. With the military buildup in Vietnam during the mid-60’s, he again joined the Army, and promptly volunteered for duty in Vietnam serving various tours there.
He is survived by his loving friend, wife and life companion, Muriel; his sisters Eva of El Paso and Irma of Juarez, his brother Jaime of Pearl City, Hawaii, and a diaspora of nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery on Tues, May 16, 1:00PM.
