Gilbert Leo Romero

Gilbert Leo Romero Jr., 51 “The Glass Man” earned his wings March 9, 2010 to join his mother and father, Concepcion and Gilbert Sr. in heaven. He is survived by high school sweetheart and mother of his children Maria Socorro Romero. Children: Maria Cristina Romero, Bryan Romero, and Eric Romero who with Estella Guerrero-Romero gave Leo 3 handsome grandchildren: Michael, Elias, and Geovanni; Sister Elizabeth Romero ( Julio Martinez) and niece Jessica Matthews. He will be missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. He was born in Killeen, Texas, lived in Dallas, and made El Paso his home. Leo was a graduate of Irvin HS Class of ‘77, and he proudly reminisced wearing football team jersey #75. We celebrate his life and smile, remembering Leo as a kind, compassionate heart of a lion, jokester and flirt, who lived his life loving his family and friends. He will be loved and in our hearts always. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Interment: Private.
