Geza Banko

October 14, 1939 — April 2, 2012

Geza Banko went home to be with His Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, April 2, 2012 with his loving wife standing by his side. Geza was born in Lad , Hungary , on Oct 14, 1939. His late parents, Lydia and Janos Banko chose him as their son, and raised him until he ventured to come to America to live and become America's son. Geza joined the US Army and served his new country for 20 years. He worked for many years for Fortune Lincoln Mercury and retired from Casa Ford in 2010. He was a member of New Life Church and served God as Deacon and various other positions in his church. He is survived by his wife, Judy, of 47 years; son, Steven and his wife, Connie; grandsons: Bryan, Steven Kyle Banko, Manuel, Daniel, and Samuel and his wife, Lizette Vicario. Many thanks are owed to Joe Irrabali, The Hospice El Paso team, nurses from EliteCare/Home Health Services for their 24hr care and much needed help. Thanks also go to precious friends, Church family, and neighbors who helped when called upon. Donations for Geza's memory may be made to Hospice of El Paso or to the Gideon's. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a Prayer Service to begin at 5:30pm on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Services for Geza Banko will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2012, 9.30 a.m. at New Life Chuch, 5505 Will Ruth next to the YMCA, with Pastors Miguel Monzon and Phil Parker officiating. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
