Gerald Terrian

March 26, 1929 — July 8, 2008

Gerald (Jerry) Terrian passed away on July 8, 2008. Jerry was born March 26, 1929 in West Allis, Wisconsin, to William and Agnes Terrian. After graduating from Juneau High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army from which he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 in 1968. After graduating from Texas Western College, he worked as Programming Supervisor at the college until 1978 when he and a partner formed a software development firm, Basic Business Systems. In 1979, he formed another software development firm, Programming Services of El Paso, which is still in business today as PSI Software, Inc. He was affiliated with El Paso Community College from its inception until he taught his last class this spring. He was active in community theatre. He was an avid UTEP Miners fan, holding season tickets for more than three decades. He was a member of the Simple Sam’s RV club and was an avid fisherman. He was the voice of the Parkland Matador football team, announcing at games for many years. Jerry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia, his 96 year old stepmother, Anne, brothers, Robert (Dorothy) and William (Carol) Terrian , sister, Audrey (Erv) Sessner, his sons, Daniel (Rogene) and Michael (Karen) Terrian, his daughters, Rosemarie (Richard) Labs, Tinamarie (Sergio) Ramirez, and Susan (Ruben) Barron, his grandchildren, Chance Terrian, Randy (Vivian) Maguire, Leslie Anne and Courtney Terrian, Katherine (Adrian) Meraz, Jessica (Michael) Martinez, Jared Ramirez, Alex, Jazlyn, Daniel, and Soledad Barron. He is preceded in death by his father, William, his son, David, and his grandson, Bryan. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the UTEP Athletic Fund. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
