George Thomas Good, decorated WWII Combat Veteran, Pioneer Westside El Paso Retailer, 60 Year Mason, and Original Westside Rotary Club Member, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the age of 98. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie Mae and Francis Marion Good, his wife of 62 years Geneva, his wife of 2 years Ferne, his caregiver and special friend Dorothy Roberts, Daughter-in-law Debbie Good, Brother-Francis Good, and his Sisters Sarah Pennington, Fannie Elder and Ester Payne. He is survived by son Steve Good (Joan), Daughter Dianna Jones (Jack), Grandchildren: Dennis Jones (Amy), David Jones (Holly), Beth Voigt (George), Julie Good-Parks (Troy), and Kyle Good (Alison), Great Grandchildren: Grayson Jones, Kathryn Jones, Victoria Voigt, Jacob Jones, Kristopher Jones, Tyler Parks, and Jordan Parks, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was born in Ardmore, OK on April 18, 1918. He moved to El Paso in 1958 and opened CR Anthony, in Coronado Shopping Center, in 1960. He had many loving employees, customers and friends until his retirement in 1984. He and his wife Geneva traveled across the US in their Airstream Trailer with fellow Airstream club members for the next 18 years. For the last 6 years, he resided at Royal Estates of El Paso with his new family of friends and staff. Special thanks to Marty for her loving care and friendship. Everyone knew they could see George on his daily walks, no matter what the weather. Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:30AM at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
