Gavina R. Muro

Gavina R. Muro (83), an icon in the numerous lives she touched, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends on February 9, 2025. With humble beginnings here in El Paso she held many titles. She was a faithful wife, sister, mother, aunt, and most importantly a grandma. She was a devout Catholic and attended Guardian Angel Catholic Church for many years. She worked at Levi’s for an astonishing 30 years and was an expert seamstress. Gavina Muro loved cooking, cleaning, and mariachis. She was a philanthropist and helped all of those around her. Oftentimes putting the needs of others above her own and giving when she herself went without. Gavina was never afraid to be herself and was always the life of the party. She is preceded in death by her parents Pascual and Refugio Ramos, her sister-in-law Rosa Alicia Ramos, children Isela Jurado, Juan Diego Jurado, and nephew Armando Ramos. She is survived by her Husband Armando Muro, her brother Pascual Ramos, her children Robert E Jurado (Lucinda), Diana Hernandez (Santiago), Jo Ann Woodward, Joe Vincent Martinez (Kim), Theo Martinez (Jennifer), Elizabeth Rosales, daughter-in-law Wendy West, her 2 nephews, her 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and her favorite furry friend Sacha. Her pallbearers are Robert E Jurado, Joe Vincent Martinez, Theo Martinez, Ricardo Ramos, Fernando Ramos, Paul Chavez, Jessica Rodarte, and Michael Rosales. Her honorary pallbearers are Pascual Ramos, and Rudy Guerrero. A rosary service will be held on Thursday February 13th at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas at 6:00 P.M. Her funeral services will be held on Friday February 14th at Guardian Angel Catholic Church at 11:00 A.M.
