Gail L. Watson

Gail L. Watson, 73, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2010. She was born July 28, 1936 in Norwood, Massachusetts. She was a long time resident of El Paso. In 1956, she graduated with an Associates degree in medical secretarial science from Colby Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire. After raising her children and working as a secretary and a personnel clerk for eleven years with the Bureau of Reclamation Department of the Interior, she decided to go back to college. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from UTEP in 1991. She enjoyed working as an accountant especially serving her church as their treasurer and later their bookkeeper. She volunteered for many organizations such as being the Special Projects Chairman for District IX Garden Club, the Genealogy Society and the Cancer Treatment Institute. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Billy W. Watson. She is survived by her son, Stephen P. Watson and his wife Marette of Richardson, Texas, daughter Karen W. Wentworth and her husband Jim of El Paso; grandchildren Michelle, Katherine, Kendra, David and Collin. The family wishes to thank VNA Home Health Care, Hospice of El Paso, Dr. Reed, Dr. Bornstein and their wonderful staffs for their loving care. A memorial service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 3500 McRae Blvd. Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 11:00 am with internment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church Altar Guild, 3500 McRae Blvd., El Paso, TX 79925. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
