Gabriel Manny YañezSeptember 18, 1983 – February 14, 2025
Gabriel Manny Yañez, 41, of El Paso, Texas, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, February 14, 2025, due to complications of Addison’s Disease.
Gabriel was a loving son, brother, father, and friend whose warmth and kindness left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He had a passion for life, enjoying time with his family, sharing laughter with friends, and embracing every moment with a quiet strength that inspired those around him.
For years, Gabriel endured misdiagnosed pain and suffering, withdrawing from the life he once loved as his body battled an illness that remained unnamed. This period was incredibly difficult, not only for Gabriel but for his family, who longed to ease his suffering but didn’t know how. In 2022, after a severe health crisis that placed him in the ICU for a week, Gabriel was finally diagnosed with Addison’s Disease—a rare disorder where the adrenal glands fail to produce enough essential hormones, leading to extreme fatigue, muscle weakness, low blood pressure, and life-threatening crises.
Though his diagnosis brought clarity, the journey was far from over. The first six months were filled with trial and error, adjusting medications and dosages to help him regain control of his health. Despite these struggles, Gabriel faced each day with courage and resilience, determined to reclaim the good times that this disease had stolen from him and his loved ones.
Unfortunately, Addison’s Disease remains widely misunderstood and often goes undiagnosed until severe complications arise. In honoring Gabriel’s memory, we hope to bring awareness to this condition, advocating for better education, early detection, and improved care for those who suffer in silence.
Gabriel is survived by his beloved daughter, Destiny Alizae Yañez; his wife, Francis Marie Yañez; his mother, Yvonne Irma Yañez; his brothers, Daniel E. Yañez Jr. (Marie Yañez) and Eric E. Yañez; his nephews, Kenneth Freeman, Xavian D. Yañez, Ezekiel McLaughlin, Noah L. Nash, Micaiah J. Nash, and Joiakim N. Nash; his niece, Kairi Freeman; and his sister, Virginia Yañez Nash (Kedren A. Nash). He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel E. Yañez Sr.
