Froylan Lozano

Froylan Lozano, 77, was born October 5, 1931, in Cieneguilla Zacatecas, Mexico, to Crescencia De La Rosa and Lorenzo Lozano. He was the youngest of 7, joining in Heaven his brothers Manuel, Antonio, Jesus, and sisters, Concha, Juanita, and Enedina. On November 17, 2008, Froylan joined the company of Jesus Christ and his angels. During this angel’s time here on Earth, Froylan proudly served in the United States Army as a medic from 1956 to 1958. In 1961, he married the love of his life, Hortencia Esparza. Together they reared 8 beautiful children, Jose, Alicia, Lorenzo, Raul, Gloria, Yolanda, Frankie, and Albert. Froylan is also survived through his 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, tallying an age range from 5 months to 24 years. Papi, as he was affectionately known to his children, is remembered fondly as a fun-loving gentleman who loved to dance and sing to cumbias and corridas. He wasn’t hard to please, as family and food would easily bring a contagious smile to his face. He loved to tell stories about the time he spent in the service and could instantly light any room into which he stepped. The family would like to thank the staff at El Paso Rehabilitation Center for all their loving care and support. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Vigil will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, 750 North Carolina, on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 7:00 P.M.; funeral ceremonies will take place at Santa Lucia Church on Friday, November 21, 2008 at 9:15 A.M. He will receive an Honorable Veteran’s burial at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
