Frederick H. Parks Fred Parks, 98, passed away August 3rd, 2016. Fred was born in Eureka, Kansas on April 7th, 1918. As a child he attended a one room school house, then left to serve his country proudly in the United States Army. He was a D-Day Invader in WWII, and a prisoner of war. He continued life in the military and served in the Korean Vietnam War. He is a decorated soldier and hero. He loved camping in Colorado, restoring old vehicles, dancing and enjoying family and life. His loving wife Louise Parks passed away in 2010. He leaves behind a daughter, Lynne Parks Heckler (John), three grandchildren, Alex Perez, Andrew Heckler, Lindsey Lott Jones, two great grandchildren Ayden, Kasen Heckler and a step daughter, Anita Hopkins Lott (Tom), stepson, Dr. Charles D. Hopkins. Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 pm Wednesday, August 10th, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Funeral Service at 11:30 am Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Military Funeral Honors will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery following services Thursday at 1:00 pm. Please visit our online registry at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net
