Frederick DeVonne Daniels

Fredrick Devonne, known by all as Rick, was born April 29, 1960 in Camp Hanford, Washington to Doris and Perry Daniels. In 1965 his father Perry returned from Korea and the family moved to El Paso where he attended Dolphin Terrace Elementary, Fannin Elementary School for grades 5-8 and Parkland High School, where he excelled at football and track and graduated with high honors in 1978. He attended and played football for UTEP on a football scholarship. While attending UTEP he began working at UPS as a loader and in a few years became a supervisor. After leaving UPS and up until his death, he was a professional truck driver which he enjoyed immensely because of his free spirit. He enjoyed Playing guitar, writing lyrics and he loved horse racing. Rick accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at Sun Valley Baptist Church, in El Paso, Texas. He later joined Skyline Baptist Church with his family and sang in the choir. He was a strong student of the Bible. To remember and celebrate his legacy, he leaves his children: Rick (Erin), Raymond (Ashley) and Renee (Justin); brother, Terrence; mother, Doris Taylor and pop, Charles Taylor; father, Perry Daniels and wife, Alberta; aunt, Patsy Gipson; ex-wife and friend Rhonda; loving sister, Terri Yoshie Rounds; and long time friend/brother Rick Kiesel and family; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 10-11am with a Funeral Service to begin at 11am, Friday, December 9, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
