FRANK Y. SHIOJI was born in Ysleta, Texas on May 27, 1928 and passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at age 88 in El Paso. He was a graduate of Ysleta High School and Texas Western College. During the Korean War, he served in the 115th Medical Battalion. He was a Chemistry Instructor at UT El Paso in the mid-sixties and served for many years as Chief Medical Laboratory Technologist at Providence Memorial Hospital and also served in the laboratories of the Internal Medicine Group and Columbia Health Care. He is preceded in death by his sister Edna Kurita and his brother, Tom Shioji. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Grace Shioji, sons; Alan Shioji and his wife, Sheryl of El Paso, Glenn Shioji of El Paso, Lane Shioji of Alexandria, VA., daughter Sandy Arey and husband, Dr. John Arey Jr. of Charlotte, NC., grandchildren; Megan Shioji, Jill Shioji , Sarah Shioji, Jordan Arey, Jackson Arey, Curt Arey, Carter Arey Natarajan and great-granddaughter, Madilynn Marshall. Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11:00AM at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, with Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West, 480 N.
