Frank Murphy

Frank B. Murphy, 76, of El Paso, Texas passed away on Friday, October 12,2007, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Homestead, Florida, on September 8, 1931. Much of his early years were spent in Rome, Georgia where he graduated from Mt. Berry School. Later he relocated to El Paso where he served as an officer with the El Paso Police Department while attending Texas Western College (UTEP). Frank enjoyed a 26 year career as a Teacher with El Paso Independent School District. During these years he was active with local and state teachers' organizations which led to an increased interest in retirement issues and the importance of preparation. Frank enjoyed many years of service to others in different capacities. Survivors include Clair, his loving Spouse of 54 years; Daughters: Eva Murphy (St. Louis, MO), Frances Elaine Murphy (Los Angeles, CA), Rachel Murphy Cox and Son-In-Law James Cox (Long Beach, CA); Grandchildren: Russell Murphy Cox and Hannah Yulin Cox; Sister-in-Law: Kathy Murphy (El Paso, TX); Nephew: Mike Murphy ( EI Paso TX) and Nieces: Donna Murphy and Patti Longnecker (El Paso, TX). Services will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Clement McKee Chapel, 810 N. Campbell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Clement Church in Frank's memory. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
