Frank Dove

Frank Dove, 77, passed away on May 8, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. Frank was born in Quitaque Tx On March 28, 1934. He was preceded in death by father Rollin Dove, mother Helen Keisling Dove, stepmother Mary Dove, brother Rollin Dove Jr., special Aunt Faye Smith, great-grandson Nathan Dove and stepdaughter Patricia Boswell. He is Survived by wife Jan Dove; brothers James Dove (Bobbi) and Rusty Dove; sister Vivian Olson; former wife Bonnie Bostick; children Terry Dove-Swall (Ron), Robert Dove Jr (Kathy), Kenny Dove (Alla), Laurie Dove Dykes (Greg); family friend Tana Schermerhorn Walker (Randy); stepchildren Beth Sullivan (Rick), Colleen Ealey, Melissa Corneau (Dana), Melonie Fanney (Chris); 19 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Frank graduated from Fabens High School in 1951. He started a 40 year career as a country musician at 20. After 15 years’ employment with Standard Oil Co. he resumed playing music full time. Frank played with various bands in El Paso, co-owned The Red Barn and owned The Melody Ranch for 27 years. In 2002 Frank retired from singing due to cancer. Frank was a devout Miners and Cowboy fan.
