Frank Albert Carr was born in Pittsburgh, Oklahoma on December 17, 1938. He was the son of Miller (Deceased) and Jessie Carr (deceased). Frank was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was also retired from the West Texas Juvenile Detention Center under the State of Texas. Frank Carr was called home to our Lord on Monday, April 29, 2024. Frank is survived by his four children: Frank Carr Jr., Maurice Carr, Anthony Carr (Esther) and daughter Lisa Williams. Frank also was a stepfather to Travis Childress (Carol), Theresa Hall (Tony), and Deann Warren. Frank Carr has twelve grandchildren: Shaunte Edwards, Dorian Carr, Marcus Carr., Tanya Carr, Tony Hall (Melissa), Darryl Warren, Ashley Escarcega (Emmanuel), Eric Warren, Tanya Hall, Dion Warren (Mary), Tasha Childress, and Tyson Childress with a host of great grandchildren.
Frank Carr was preceded in death by his wife of forty-one years, Mary Ruth Carr and his parents, Miller, and Jessie Carr. Frank was affectionately known as Grandpa Carr by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Frank was a true outdoorsman who loved to fish and watch nature shows. He also was a man who worked with his hands and was able to fix anything he collected. Frank Carr was always available to provide guidance and wisdom to others as witnessed by his years spent in Pyote, Texas at the West Texas Juvenile Detention Center. Frank Carr lived a life of service and was a caretaker who always valued the needs of others above his own. He was a dedicated caretaker to his wife Mary during her final illness. Frank Carr was known for his garlic hamburgers that he would grill at cookouts with his grandchildren while they camped out in the backyard. Grandpa Frank was a kind by stern hand to everyone that knew him, but he saved a special place in his heart for his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 - 8:00 PM with Prayer Service at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 PM on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Committal Service will follow at 1:30 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
